| By Naomi Dargue Year Eight The band has been progressing well since September, including after-school rehearsals every Wednesday and an inspiring spring concert on 14th March in the Hall.  Eight
additional musicians have joined the band, including Katy,
Florence and Nicky on keyboards, Sam and Keanu on saxophones, Dagmar on
drums, Farah on guitar, and Emily on flute.The band has been learning a number of new pieces such as Girl from Ipanema, Monday Monday and New York, New York. Audiences also enjoy some old favourites, including the Abba Medley and Strike up the Band. Band members always put the maximum enthusiasm into their rehearsals and the band hopes to have many more members next year. The concert on the 14th March went really well and the audience thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition to the band concert, soloists performed many favourites and displayed the wide range of talents in this school, from the primary years right through the Sixth Form. Musicians are hoping for at least one concert in Lisbon, in addition to the big summer concert at the school. The band would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Savage, Mr Sheard, Miss Robalo and Dona Lesley for all their time and effort. |
