The New Student Council

The Student Council has been in evidence at our school for many years. This term we have dusted it off and introduced a new approach, which we hope will reflect the new dynamics and vibe that is running through the arteries of the school.

Mrs Fruish advises the council, and Holly Bailey of Year 13 is the coordinator.

Representatives
  • Year 12: Ben Pugsley and Anna Weinbeck
  • Year 11: Sapphire Clay Barker and Bryony Mellars
  • Year 10: Haashim Bakht and Annabel Healy.
  • Year 9: Nina van Riet and Michelle van Reitschoten.
  • Year 8: Keanu Griffin, Katy Jones and Alex Peeters.
  • Year 7: Amelia Cross, Farah Pirbazari and Michael Parry.
The views of the pupils from Pre-school to year Year Six will be channeled through Miss Kieran.
Representatives from Year 7 to Year 13 will meet monthly and present the views of their year group.

The objective of the Student Council is to provide democracy for students and pupils, with a platform upon which their ideas and opinions can be heard.

“The role of student rep is a tough one, listening to others moan about things they don’t like,” said Ben Pugsley. “Even if you don’t agree with their views, you have to put them forward. It’s easy to be negative but it is a real challenge to stay positive and it should be everyone’s duty to try to improve the school or make a difference, no matter how small.”
