Reading Buddies

Every Friday, Year Six pupils go to Year One classroom to read with our reading buddies. We read for about 20 minutes.

For the World Book Day we are making our own books to read to our reading buddy and our reading buddy will be a character with all things they like in the story to make them happy.

Dagmar's reading buddy is Sidney . He reads to her first and then she reads a book to him, which he chooses.

We wrote small books for our reading buddies and she wrote a book about cars because he likes racing with them. Her book for Sidney is called “ Sidney and the Race”. It is about a boy called Sidney who wins a big wooden car race. We hope Sidney likes his book.

In Year One there are 21 children so some of Year Six have to have two reading buddies. Year Six and Year One have now become good friends. Year One students are very good readers and no matter what, they are a very hard working, very lively and happy class.
