United Nations Day

On Friday 21st October the whole school celebrated UN Day. Primary School pupils dressed in the colours of their national flag and everyone brought a plate of food typical to their country to share with their class at snack time.

Each class did their own activities based around the themes of unity, peace and internationalism. These included making flags, collecting peace symbols, making class passports, exploring maps, sharing artifacts, reading stories about unity and teamwork, designing posters, and making a huge word search of member countries.

We celebrated together in Primary and Middle School Assemblies. The hall was filled with colour and happiness, singing and special thoughts.

The students donated money to UNICEF – the UN charity for children – and we collected €180.
