Sunday 22nd
Today is the day that I set off for Wye valley in England. I arrived at the airport at 6:00 pm and only saw Brian, Mr Foreman, Emma and Charlotte. Others like Pippa, Dianna, James Pete, Oliver Kirk, and James Forbes arrived later. We arrived at Bristol Airport at about 10:30 where we hired two cars for the week. After Mr Foreman and Brian did all the paper work we set off for Ross on Wye. We arrived at Holly Barn at 12:00pm, all off us very tired. We settled in and had some soup and then went straight to bed.
Monday 23rd
Woke up at 8:30am got dressed and had some breakfast. Paul the instructor came around telling us that we were going canoeing for nine miles down the river Wye. After breakfast we went to the mini bus to meet Paul. He took us down to a centre where we collected the oars and canoes (which we towed). We arrived at a bank and got set up; then we were on our way.
The person in the back of my canoe was Forbes who was a brilliant partner. Halfway, we stopped and had lunch. To cut a long story short, we had great fun and arrived back at the barn at 5:00 pm. We went for a walk in the forest.
Tuesday 24th
Went abseiling. I was the first volunteer to go down. I was scared out of my boots but I went down twice to prove to myself that I wasn’t scared, and I loved every moment of it. Did rock climbing as well and I reached the top twice. We had an assistant called Alex who has done rock climbing all his life. Anyway, today was great fun. I think abseiling is more fun because it’s more of a challenge and you need a lot of nerve. Went walking in forest.
Wednesday 25th
Got up, had breakfast and was told by Paul that we were walking, abseiling, and caving all at once. What he meant was that we were going on an adventure walk. Great fun but tiring. We abseiled down a keyhole, went caving and walked over hills and walked and walked and walked. We arrived back exhausted but had had fun.
Thursday 26th
Did archery. I was so bad my top score was 6! We visited Gloucestershire Cathedral where they filmed Harry Potter. We then went off to Tewksbury swimming pools near Evesham where I used to live. We enjoyed ourselves a lot and then had to return to the barn. We got back to the barn at 7:00pm. O yeah it snowed!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday 27th
Our wonderful trip is coming near to an end. We went to Cheltenham to shop. I bought my family and myself something and looked around the shops with Pete, Forbes and Ollie, who are sadly leaving school at the end of this year. We got back at the barn and looked at things we had bought and talked. Brian And Mr Clay went to get good old fish and chips. We went for our final walk in the forest in the snow, it had been snowing all day. Afterwards we had hot chocolate and went to bed, stuffed. Well, I certainly did.
Saturday 28th
Well, sadly we had to go today. We packed, cleared away and left at 11.00am. But it wasn’t over. We went to Bristol City to look around and had lunch, which was mainly crisps, cola and sweets. Then we had to leave and go to the airport. We took off at 4:00pm and landed at Faro at 7:15pm where our loving parents collected us and took us home.
Well, I had a superb time thanks to Mr Clay, Mr Foreman, and Brian Pereira.
