Safety & Security

We have a new sign directing visitors to the school office. In the interests of security would all parents (apart from Pre-school and Reception parents taking & picking up children) also please report to the office first, before entering the school area, so that we know exactly who is on site at any given time.

Punctuality

Please make every effort to get your children to school on time as it has a disruptive effect on lessons or registration. Also, children should be picked up by 3:45pm at the latest, unless engaged in after school activities.

World Book Day Readathon

A sponsored Readathon will take place at EISL to purchase books to expand our Reading Library. Pupils are asked to come dressed as their favourite character from a book and donate €1.

Year 10 & 11 Mathematics

After half term Mr Larkins and Mr Warman will, once again, be offering extra tuition for the examination groups. These sessions will take place on Tuesdays after school. A separate letter will be issued shortly.

UN Water Aid Day

We are going to support this worthy cause by raising money for Water Aid. We are planning to change BUCKETS OF COINS into BUCKETS OF WATER. The fund-raising activities will be ongoing from February to June.

School Student Council

Our pupils have been busy electing their new Student Council representatives. Watch this space for their initiatives!

Service to the community

Duke of Edinburgh Award

A group of our students were so moved by what they saw during their visit to the São Gregorio home for disabled young people in Albufeira that they are now trying to raise enough money to pay for the refurbishment of one of the bedrooms. Please help them to reach their goal • Home bake stall – each Friday from now until Easter at 3.30pm outside the office. Please buy some goodies or bake some and donate them for the cause! • Car boot stall – on the Almancil Car Boot Sale (11th February, Sunday). Have an early spring clean and bring your unwanted items (in boxes please) to the school office before Friday 9th February. For more details: Jorge Figeira, Robert Belcher, Sam Pugsley, Freddie Waite, Oliver Hart, Alexander Holström Forster from Year10 or Emma Stevens, Chloe Welch from Year11

Congratulations to all our runners!

On 27th January, 57 students competed in a cross country competition organised by Loulé Camara. In what was a fantastic performance, by everyone, the students returned to school with five trophies. Each of the girls’ teams won a team trophy, being placed 2nd in all events. Special mention must go to Josephine Peet who received a personal medal for 3rd place, and to Emma Stevens, Charlotte Peet and Elodie Stoetman who narrowly missed medals, coming in 4th position. The boys also performed well to achieve overall 4th place in the teams competition. The next competition is the International Schools cross country at Vilamoura School on the 10th Feb and we wish all runners the very best for that competition.
